The goal of First Year Experience Services is to encourage student success by promoting early intervention strategies. In partnership with all existing college departments, the First Year Experience Service is designed to provide first year and first generation learners with encouragement, resources and support to help all students succeed. First Year Experience Services are available to on campus and distant learners.

Making the transition to college can be exciting and demanding. We are here to support you through this experience. Our motto is "Ask Questions", we will help you find the answers. We provide academic, personal, financial advising in a comfortable, welcoming place to ask confidential questions.

At First Year Experience Services, we want to help you succeed not only academically, but personally as well. A mentor can meet you at the college on your first day, invite you to campus and community events, and provide encouragement and support. As most mentors are second or third year students at Northern Collge, they can answer your questions and help point you in the right direction. If you would like to have a mentor, or be a mentor please contact the First Year Advisor on your campus.
