Right Start for First Generation Learners

Free summer orientation on August 31, 2017 from 9 am to 4 pm.

What is a first generation learner?

A first generation learner means that  your parent(s) or guardian(s) did not attend college or university in Canada. If your siblings attended college or university, but your parent(s) or guardian(s) have not, you are still considered a first generation learner.

  • Learn about services and meet key people who can answer your questions.
  • Get a head start on obtaining your student card and learning various strategies to head you on the road to success.
  • Meet your First Year Experience Advisor who can meet regularly, find you a peer mentor, and offer encouragement throughout your college experience.
  • Learn about Citrix (the college network) and Blackboard (e-classroom software).
